Whew

Finally, figured out how to setup ftp and apache to suit my needs for a test server in house. Should be easy enough to configure the other machine now. Had to create a user and group just for ftp and give it the home directory of the web server root, then added all regular users to the same group. Lost mysql connection but a restart of the daemon fixed that. It's funny that when I had a problem with the default server settings for apache under Fedora Core 4, I was sent to a page generated by someone having to do with Debian, saying that the default had to be a certain way and that it was either a bug or a feature!!! Things can finally get started around here now! Gonna start coding sites with perl or php, setup calendars, collaboration software, and carts. Hope to be in the black soon.
